High School District Wrestling, Feb 15-16, La Grande
La Grande High School will host the District 2 Wrestling Tournament. The event begins at 4pm on Friday. It will continue Saturday at 11am. Event pass is $12 for adults and $8 for students. Concessions will be available. Wrestlers will represent Baker/Powder Valley, Crook County, La Grande, La Pine, Madras, McLoughlin/Weston-McEwen, Ontario, Ridgeview, and Sisters.
College Planning Workshop, Feb 16, La Grande
A free workshop will be held for the parents of college-bound high school students. The workshop will focus on little-known ways of getting money for college no matter how much income you make or how good of a student you have. The class will include such topics as how to double or triple your eligibility for free grant money, the secret to sending your child to a private or state university for less than the cost of a junior college, and the single biggest mistake that 9 out of 10 parents make when planning for college. The free workshop will be held at the Public Library in the Community Room at 9:15am. Call Heather at 541-624-2112 to reserve your seat.
